We perform testing for general microbiology and pathogens in foods, and waters, as well as specialist tests for food poisoning organisms including Salmonella, E.coli 0157 and Listeria.
Using our wide range of instrumental capabilities including gas chromatography, liquid chromatography, ICP-OES, Atomic absorption testing for: nutrition panels, vitamins, preservatives, pesticide residues, metals including arsenic and mercury, dietary fibre, and saturated, trans, mono, polyunsaturated fatty acids and omega 3 & 6 fatty acids, artificial colours and sweeteners.
Food allergen detection services using the latest ELISA techniques for: gluten, dairy (B-lactoglobulin, casein), egg, crustacea, nuts (peanut, almond, hazelnut), sesame and soy.
Using PCRTechnology, our analysts can detect the presence of genetically modified material at very low levels and provide qualitative and quantitative testing in raw materials and/or processed foodstuffs.
We offer a rapid investigative service to identify foreign matter and objects, insects, glass, plastic, blood. Phosphatase testing is available to establish if insects have been processed. We provide a comprehensive report and digital photo for each item as part of this service.
Legislation and Labelling Advice
We can provide advice on legislation and labelling according to the requirements of the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code. We can also conduct labelling assessments and result interpretation.
